Hey everyone, I’m Dr. Parik Patel, BA, CFA, ACCA, Esq.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a Chartered Fin-meme Analyst (CFA) and Twitter’s most qualified fintwit account.

Anyways, I’ve been told that I have a particular insight into the world of finance, memes and everything in between.

This week, we’ll be going through memory lane: my top tweets over the past year, growing from 0k to 342k followers (thank you all that came along for the ride)!

How my Twitter journey started

It was August 18th, 2020.

The world was still heavily sheltering at home.

That night, I was sheltering at home with a giant bowl of palak paneer and an incredibly unhealthy amount of garlic naan.

Following a 36-hour Excel financial modelling marathon, I decided to take a break and sign up on Twitter (I heard it was the “most stress-free” social network).

Even though the onboarding experience was absolute trash, I was immediately hooked by all the well thought out arguments s**tposting. Here was my first banger:

TBH though: I was a total Reply Guy the first few months on the platform…it was pathetic.

As with any sport — and, trust me, s**tposting is a sport — it takes time to skill up. By December, my game was getting pretty sharp.

Then boom! All those sleepless nights spreadsheeting away finally paid off. I hit a string of viral Excel valuation tweets in December.

A little community on Reddit took notice…you may have heard of them: r/WallStreetBets.

All of this upward momentum coincided with my long lost son finally reaching out to me on Twitter.

Add it all up and you had some dry powder for the GameStop insanity that would ensue at the end of January 2021.

Since then, it’s been up and to the right:

So, there it is.

One year in the bag. I couldn’t have done it without your support…and retweets…and “LOL” comments.

Without further ado, here are my 5 favorite tweets from the past year:
