Digits: So much ‘Star Wars,’ Lana’s 13 extra minutes, and more

Lana too long, Fallout’s resurgence, a very tall building, and more.

$1k: How much you could make if you’ve a) never seen a Star Wars film and b) agree to watch nine of them. Financial advice website FinanceBuzz wants to celebrate Star Wars Day — May 4, as in “may the force” be with you — by hiring someone to review every film in the Skywalker saga. That’s the original three films, the prequels, and the three surrounding Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey. “We’ll use our Wookiee Rookie’s analysis for an upcoming story,” the listing reads, whatever that means.

1,907 feet: Height of a proposed skyscraper in Oklahoma City that, if built, would be the tallest building in the US and the sixth tallest on Earth. Known as the Legends Tower, it would consist of 1,750 apartments and a Hyatt hotel, and cost an estimated $1.6B to build. However, local officials and residents have questioned why Oklahoma City would need such a tall building, so time will tell if this project actually comes to fruition. Fun fact, though: The year 1907 is when Oklahoma officially became a US state.

$28k: Fine that Coachella is facing due to Lana Del Rey’s set running 13 minutes over. The city of Indio, California, has imposed this fine if performers violate curfew — 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, and midnight on Sundays — since 2013. It’s $20k for the first five minutes, then $1k per minute after. Indio puts the money in its general fund. (BTW, don’t be too hard on Lana: Last year, the fest was fined $117k in its first weekend after all three headliners, including Frank Ocean, went over.)

1m+: People who played “Fallout 76” in a single day thanks to the success of the new Amazon Prime series, which has already been renewed for a second season. Video game developer Bethesda said ~5m players logged in across all “Fallout” games in a single day. Meanwhile, mobile game “Fallout Shelter” saw daily revenue hit $80k after the series debuted, up from $20k prior. The first installment of the popular post-apocalyptic video game franchise came out in 1997, making the franchise about as old as the show’s star, Ella Purnell.
